Welcome to Southport Photographic Society

Southport Photographic Society meets every Monday evening from September to April each year.  Meetings take place at New Hall, Emmanuel Church, Cambridge Road, Southport PR9 9PR starting at 19:45 prompt.


The membership ranges from beginners to those with considerable expertise in photography, new members are always welcome.


During the 'closed season' of May, June, July and August small groups of members continue to meet every Monday for photographic outings, usually ending up in the pub afterwards.

    The Royal Photographic Society is running a campaign to honour one hundred photographic Heroines and we’re inviting you to take part.

  • Margaret Harker Hon FRPS, Hon FBIPP, D.Hon

    Margaret Harker, a photographer, lecturer, historian and author was the UK's first female professor of photography.  She founded the country's first photography degree course and was the first woman to be president of the Royal Photographic Society.  She was a distinguished photographic historian and was instrumental in the development of photographic education.
